Frequently Asked Questions
Find answers to common questions about the Innovator Founder Visa, the endorsement process, business setup in the UK, and settlement.
Common Questions
It is a UK visa route for entrepreneurs who want to start an innovative business in the UK. It lasts 3 years and offers a direct path to Indefinite Leave to Remain (permanent residence), which is the fastest settlement route available.
There is no fixed minimum investment requirement. The old Innovator visa required GBP 50,000 — that rule no longer applies. You do need to show you have enough funding to start and run your business, and you need GBP 1,270 in personal savings.
An endorsing body is an organisation approved by the Home Office to assess your business plan. They evaluate whether your idea is genuinely innovative, whether it is realistic (viable), and whether it can grow (scalable). You must get their endorsement before you can apply for the visa.
Typically 5-7 months from your first consultation to receiving your visa. Business plan development takes 4-6 weeks, endorsement 4-8 weeks, and the visa application 3-8 weeks depending on processing speed.
Yes. Your partner and children under 18 can apply as dependants on your visa. They will have the right to live, work, and study in the UK.
You arrive in the UK and start building your business. I help with company formation, HMRC registration, bank accounts, and getting everything operational. You have mandatory check-in meetings with your endorsing body during the 3 years.
You need to show your business is active and trading, that you have been involved in running it, and that you meet at least 2 of 7 achievement criteria (such as investing GBP 50,000 in the business, creating jobs, or generating significant revenue). I track your progress against these criteria throughout.
Immigration lawyers specialise in the legal side of visa applications. I focus on the full picture — the business idea, the plan, the endorsement, the business growth, and the settlement criteria. I work with immigration solicitors as partners for the regulated legal aspects, so you get both the business expertise and the legal support.
